Walgreens has a site that contains some great data about Covid and the positivity rate. I also trust Walgreens data more than CDC data and who better to compile data than a large national pharmacy chain that performs an immense amount of Covid tests.
Here is a link to the site so you can look at all of their data. There are three slides that show you just about any testing data one could want. Let’s look at the first slide.
The first slide shows how the positivity rate is increasing now as the weather warms in April. We are at 11.2% positive test rate up 2.8% from the prior week as a nation. This allows you to look at the positivity rate of any given state. Now this sample is only people that tested at Walgreens, but that is a decent sample size. Let’s look at the most vaccinated states and the least vaccinated. I skipped some of the most vaccinated because they were all in New England, I wanted some geographical diversity.
#1 Rhode Island 82.0% Vaxxed 16.6% Positive
#2 Vermont 80.8% Vaxxed 13.5% Positive
#3 Maine 79.1% Vaxxed 20.8% Positive
#6 Hawaii 78.0% Vaxxed 16.7% Positive
#11 California 71.5% Vaxxed 9.7% Positive
#46 Idaho 53.8% Vaxxed 5.9% Positive
#47 Louisiana 53.3% Vaxxed 4.5% Positive
#48 Mississippi 51.6% Vaxxed 2.5% Positive
#49 Wyoming 51.3% Vaxxed 0.0% Positive (They only did 27 tests, but all were negative)
#50 Alabama 50.8% Vaxxed 3.3% Positive
That is almost a linear trend, the more vaccinated you are the most positivity the state has. Note that Vermont is 13.5% positive, but the state was at 18.8% positivity the week prior. They are getting better, but they are not even close to the bottom three vaccinated states. This trend shows that the vaccine has a negative effect in Covid spread.
The second slide just shows how much is Omicron and how much is Omicron 2. To me, what percentage is the subvariant is of not much interest.
The third slide is where it gets the most interesting. This can be seen below. They chart positivity vs. vaccination status. Notice how the unvaccinated have a positivity rate of 6.9%. This means that of all of the tests performed on the unvaxxed, only 6.9% were positive compared to their vaccinated counterparts. This means is you are fully vaccinated and have had two shots, and you go get that booster, you are only slightly less likely to get Covid than you were before, but then look what happens after 5 months. You are the most likely person to come down with Covid.
I know what you are thinking, well the unvaccinated, because of weird rules at different places (schools, workplaces, clubs), means you are more likely to get a test with no symptoms. Maybe, but look at this chart.
This shows that all of the boosted, but not reboosted account for 19.8% of all tests, but 28.5% of all positive tests across all ages. You would think if these vaccines worked, they would have a lower percentage, like the unvaccinated or the people that recently just became fully vaccinated, but aren’t eligible for a vaccine. I cannot believe there are people in this freshly vaccinated camp, but they are probably left over from the mandates that came down in November and December. It is a little strange (if you think the vaccines work) that the highest group of tests has the 4th highest percentage of positive tests and that group is the vaccine virgins.
Now, I know what you might be thinking, there is an effect, look at the freshly fully jabbed and the recently boosted, the former shows a slight positive effect and the latter shows a barely negative effect. Maybe we should still give these booster jabs to the old people. Look at the chart below. After the boost wanes of any effectiveness (if any), you are in the positivity rate of 14.3%. During that 5 month period of possible, but doubtful protection, you have a very slight reduced chance of testing positive. All of these booster jabs tell your body to make more spike protein that is cytotoxic to our cells especially our heart cells (contact me if you need reference). With this little to negative benefit, why get boosted or re-boosted.
The last chart is slide 1 again with the positivity rate of all of the states. It is amazing how this chart mirrors the % vaccinated chart, meaning like I stated earlier, the states that are more vaccinated have higher positivity rates.
Fascinating. Also using Walgreens data is an excellent strategy.
